FivePlay - Reunites the Triceratops composing team of Tony Corman, Dave Tidball and me, backed by the stellar rhythm section of drummer Alan Hall and bassist Paul Smith. Triceratops was a three-horned band that performed all original music by Tony Corman, Dave Tidball, and myself. Many of the Bay Area's finest musicians came through the band during those years; the lineup on the CD is: Tony on saxes and flutes, Dave on saxes and clarinets, Dave Eshelman, trombone, Dan Seamans, bass, Alan Hall, drums, and myself on piano. Day In, Day Out- Vocalist Jenny Ferris and I have been making music together in various settings, from duo to quintet, since the 1980's. This is her second recording, featuring fresh and varied treatments of lyricist Johnny Mercer's most beloved material, with composers Harold Arlen, Hoagy Carmichael, Jerome Kern, and Henry Mancini. Jenny is accompanied on this CD by guitarist/arranger Tony Corman, Rich Lesnik on sax and flute, bassist Carol DeArment, drummers Tom Hassett and Bryan Bowman, and myself on piano and contributing some arrangements.
