Professional qualifications and standards for
The Alexander Technique

I am a member of AmSAT (The American Society for the Alexander Technique), the largest professional organization for teachers in the United States. AmSAT  has training standards that conform to those developed by F. M. Alexander, the originator of the Technique. AmSAT is the only American Alexander Technique society that is recognized internationally by the affiliated societies.

An AmSAT training consists of 1600 hours over three years,  in an approved training course. Not all Alexander teachers have received an AmSAT or equivalent training. Visit the AmSAT website to find certified teachers.
